Nolan's first walk

Grandma is here helping us out, cleaning the house, cooking, and most importantly, letting us get extra sleep! Tuesday, we took Nolan for his first walk in the woods. It was gorgeous outside, but I don't think Nolan was able to fully appreciate the surroundings. He did enjoy a great nap at least!

Welcome Nolan Edison Jones

On Thanksgiving morning at 1:49 am. we welcomed our little man, Nolan Edison Jones, into the world. He was 7 lbs. 10 oz. and 20.5 inches long. We ended up having an emergency c-section because his cord was wrapped around his neck twice, and the poor little guy couldn't handle the contractions. Both mom and baby are doing amazingly well and Nolan is very healthy!

Baby Update!

Last week my blood pressure went higher than ever before. I was feeling really weird, so we went in and sure enough, the doctor put me on modified bed rest! Luckily, it is more relaxed than full bed rest, but still, NO FUN! We went back in on Monday to see if we needed to be induced, but the rest had brought my pressure under control. The funny part about the appointment was that the doctor whom we met with delivered Ted. He is the director of the OB department for St. Louis University, so we are in good hands. He told me that the baby is going to be larger than average, which is what I have been both dreading and expecting. Even though I was only 7.5 lbs., Ted was 9.5. On both his mom and dad's side, back 2 generations, every mom gave birth to a 9-10 pound baby. Whew! The doctor also told us we would be delivering before our due date. Sounds great, but 24 years ago he told Ted's mom the same thing; "I won't be seeing you at your next appointment!" for 3 weeks. She finally had to be induced 2 weeks past her due date. You can't believe everything the doctors tell you. Send us all your labor thoughts! Our due date is 2 weeks from today, and we are ready!
